Terry Tan was born of Chinese, Thai and Indonesian heritage and has extensive knowledge of the history and evolution of Chinese and Southeast Asian cuisines. He has written many books on Asian food and cooking, including the Complete Asian Cookbook, The Little Thai Cookbook, and The Asian Cook (Jacqui Small/Laurel Glen). He makes regular appearances on BBC Radio 4's The Food Programme and he wrote and presented his own series TV series in Singapore. Terry also teaches Asian cooking techniques at the new School of Asian and Oriental Cookery in London.
