The study attempts to classify all the sounds found in Kangri language by its phonetics and phonology and to discuss morphological and syntactic properties of the language. The study also explores the changes that occur in the structure of the language while showing the properties of verb-agreement and ergativity. The study was conducted in the Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh where 'Kangri' is used as a lingua franca. This language can be classified as a lesser known language since not much work has been done on this.
The 'Kangri' language like other languages in the Indo-Aryan family to which it belongs, shows three kinds of agreement: Subject-Verb agreement, Object-Verb Agreement and Default agreement. In terms of its distinctive properties, the language reveals many interesting and amusing facts that are rarely found in other languages. In Introduction a brief introduction to the area where Kangri is spoken and to the language family to which it belongs has been given. In second chapter 'phonetics and phonology' all the sounds have been classified with reference to the occurrence of these sounds in the words whereas in the third and fourth chapter morphology and syntax of the language respectively have been defined.
