After her transition, Joy Ravenna has settled into a comfortable life with her girlfriend Cat and works as a forensic parapsychologist. Her goal: make the world believe that ghosts are real and are vital to solving crimes. When the heir to the Haskell Firearms business empire Liz Haskell is mysteriously murdered in her own house, Joy is called in to invetsigate. Shockingly, she finds traces of ghostly echoes at the scene of the crime, which sends her down a rabbit hole investigating a long line of murders in the Haskell family and seemingly wrongful convictions where the police ignored all the ghostly facts.
