This photographic book provides an insight into one of the few remaining primitive cultures in the world. The book takes the reader on a journey across the country to see how, through its people, traditions and customs, the country has been preserved despite the intrusion of Church and white men. The photographs illustrate the creativity and imagination of the natives of Papua New Guinea via photographs of body decoration, facial make-up, intricate head-dresses, innovative ornaments and frightening masks.
