It is important that surgeons in training are familiar with the more commonly used instruments and accessories, both diagnostic and therapeutic, but there has until now been no comprehensive textbook on them. Manufacturers' catalogues are uninformative, and specialized articles are difficult to find. This book aims to fill the gap, and provides up-to-date information on the most commonly used tools from all branches of surgery, accompanied by photographs and diagrams. It is primarily intended for young surgeons about to take final examinations, but should appeal to senior surgeons and to other specialists such as anaesthetists, physicians, radiologists and gynaecologists, who also use these instruments.
