Using a diverse collection of MRI teaching cases - both paediatric and adult - the authors show the entire spectrum of MRI findings for common disorders, less common diseases and post-operative spinal conditions. This illustrated text is a clinically oriented reference on MRI evaluation of spinal disorders. In-depth discussions of each disease address all clinical issues of concern to the radiologist and to the referring physician or surgeon. For each disease, the authors first present an "unknown" MRI case and clinical history. They then discuss the MRI findings, the diagnosis, and the disease, giving close attention to anatomy, physiology, clinical presentation, radiologic differential diagnosis, and surgical and therapeutic issues. Correlative three dimensional CT scans illustrate anatomic points, and techniques such as discography are also described.
