"Vivas in General Surgery" is designed primarily as a self-assessment aid for trainee surgeons preparing for the final fellowship and similar examinations. The book consists of 40 surgical case histories. Each case presents a concise clinical history and the physical signs; subsequently, the reader is asked to suggest a differential diagnosis and to answer a series of questions as more detail of the case is revealed. Alternative methods of management and the treatment of complications are discussed.
