This text concerns Sitwell, and his grand tour of the Orient in 1933 and arrival in Peking in February 1934. The account of his travels contains no political or social commentary, and the reader, through Sir Osbert's indulgent eyes, is offerred a series of bright or sombre images of the ruins of Angkor and Peking, which form the culminating points of his Eastern peregrination.
