The Art of Being Spawn tells the story of three characters: artist and
comic book mogul Todd McFarlane, his anti-hero Spawn, and the man that character
was based on: the real-life Al Simmons. Told from Al's perspective, and
peppered with exclusive interviews with McFarlane himself, the story is 20 plus
years in the making. It recounts a friendship that started in a Kamloops, Canada
dugout, Todd's years at DC and Marvel, the rise, fall and rebirth of the
McFarlane companies empire and the lives of the three men at the center of it
all.
