The European Community has undergone profound changes since the Single European Act of 1987. The resulting impact in the business environment has been irreversible. Opportunities and threats abound. Keeping abreast of change in Europe is not simply a matter of reliable business intelligence. The modern manager needs to be able to reinterpret the task of management. This study examines the need for the restructuring of organizations into international project-based teams. It describes how management must recognize the need for collaboration between commercial organisations in order to prosper in the new political and cultural environment of the EC.
