Chronic periodontal disease is one of diabetes mellitus complications. The present thesis aims to compare the periodontal status of type II diabetic patients to control group and assess the role of risk factors such as Khat chewing and smoking in both groups. In addition, it compared the periodontal condition with subdivided groups among diabetic patients regarding the HbA1c level and duration of diabetes mellitus type II.
