Fonssagrives, Lisa: A Portrait

Lisa Fonssagrives dominated the modelling profession for nearly three decades from 1936 to the 1950s, combining sophistication and glamour with spontaneity and total lack of vanity. Including works by Richard Avedon, Cecil Beaton, Erwin Blumenfeld, Irving Penn, Horst P. Horst, George Hoyningen-Huene and Man Ray, this volume provides a survey of international fashion photography during its golden age in the mid-20th century, but above all it is a portrait of a talented woman who transformed fashion photographs into works of art.
