Reviews:
"This fabulous book is the most comprehensive description of psoriasis treatment with Chinese medicine that I have ever seen. Detailed discussion of the pathology of the illness from both Chinese and Western points of view; traditional insights into the use of each herb backed up by modern bio-medical research, numerous case histories followed up by a larger case study concerning the very common psoriasis of the scalp, and all laid out in a clear and logical manner that is a pleasure to read. If you have patients with psoriasis, I strongly recommend that you buy this book." - Steven Clavey
"This new book is a great addition to the field of TCM dermatology, with a wealth of detailed and practical information for the treatment of psoriasis with Chinese medicine. Clear descriptions and colour illustrations of the various patterns, along with in-depth herbal treatment strategies, both internal and topical, make this a great clinical aid, and one I will be keeping close at hand!" - Mary-Jo Bevin
"I'm intrigued by the information - especially the Liver heat rising aspect of psoriasis as this is something that I have not seen/read about so never took it into consideration - so something new! ... I think the pictures in the book are really important too - a picture is worth a thousand words, especially for practitioners who don't see many skin cases." - Davina Martin

Sabine Schmitz (M.Med. TCM) is a graduate of the Zhèjiang Chinese Medical University (ZCMU) in Hángzhou, China, where she majored in Chinese dermatology. Her research there focused on psoriasis, in particular affecting the scalp. She has a busy TCM practice in Cologne, Germany, specializing in skin diseases (Chinese dermatology) and gynaecological disorders (Chinese gynaecology).
Working for fifteen years in different fields of conventional medicine gave Sabine a deep understanding of how Western medicine works, and how it often does not. This also prompted her search for alternative therapies that can address the shortcomings of conventional medical practice, in a way that is more natural, personalized, and holistic. It is her conviction that medicine should consider the patient and their body and mind in its entirety.
