Geriatric Problems in Immunology and Immunogenetics

This collection of papers from leading research groups in the field summarizes the latest advances in the study of immune senescence. An overview of various aspects of immunogenetics as well as functional lymphocyte responses is provided. The influences of endogenous endocrine activities on the composition of central cellular compartments and genetic programmes are also examined. Finally, a look at the clinical aspects of hidden amyloidoses is followed by a contribution on the role of poly(ADPribosyl)ation. As some of the most evident clinical problems in elderly individuals are believed to result from alterations of immune functions, it is hoped that the research presented in this issue will lead to new clinical developments.
