One of only eleven horses to ever win the Triple Crown, Secretariat is a horse of legend. His winning times at the Kentucky Derby and Belmont still stand today. At the Derby, Secretariat raced faster each quarter-mile, a feat never before achieved; Sham, the horse that Secretariat defeated, had a time of 1:59 4/5-a time that would have won him any other Derby before or since. And at Belmont, Secretariat won by an astounding 31 lengths. Through the lens of Eddie Sweat, his African-American groom, this is the story of one man's search for the legacy of Secretariat.
