Joe Saward has been writing about motorsport since he left university in the summer of 1983 when he started out travelling from race to race, living in a tent. He was hired by Autosport the following year and spent 10 years working for the British weekly magazine. He became Grand Prix Editor for several years before moving to France and setting up his own editorial business. He has attended every Grand Prix since 1988, a unique achievement in F1 today.
In 1995 Joe created the award-winning weekly newsletter called JSBM, which is read by many of the sport's decision-makers, and in 2000 he created www.grandprix.com - one of the largest F1 websites and widely accepted as offering the best analysis of the sport.
Joe has worked for most of the major F1 magazines around the world. He has also worked as a broadcaster and a consultant. He has written several books, including the best-selling World Atlas of Motor Racing and The Grand Prix Saboteurs, about Grand Prix drivers who became British secret agents working undercover in France.
Now based in Normandy, Joe continues to be one of the most independent voices in F1 journalism.
