A Season in St. Petersburg

This work is an evocation of life in Russia today. The narrative covers a period of about nine months - autumn through to Easter. The book describes the author's experience of life in St Petersburg, the city and its people, at a critical time of change. Much is falling apart - not only buildings, but society and its structures. Yet, the account contains much human warmth. There are accounts of a visit to the bath-house, of journeys to other cities, of daily life, of Orthodox spirituality.
