Nikki is having a hard time dealing with her mother's death--and the fact she has a new stepmother only eight months later. Crystal is as uncomfortable around Nikki and her brother and sister and they are around her. It's not until Crystal inherits a large house by the sea and their family decides to spend the summer there that Nikki decides something is really wrong with her stepmother.
