Striking photography and fact-filled profiles combine to reveal the distinct character of the world's best par-three golf holes in this gorgeous collection. A list of the 100 greatest holes are at the heart of this exploration and have been arranged according to design and geographical category, such as links, island and peninsula greens, blinds, drop downs, and more. Colorful stories behind well-known names like Alcatraz, Cleopatra, and Postage Stamp, as well as explanations about how notable course designers--Macdonald, Colt, Tillinghast, Nicklaus, and Jones among them--have created par threes are interspersed with brilliant photographs of each hole. A concluding section offers new perspectives on the one-shot hole, the top par-three layouts, and historic shots on par-three holes. This beautifully packaged tour of golf's greatest short holes guarantees to inform, entertain, and provoke vigorous debate about what makes a par three superior and memorable.
