Twenty-five year-old Jimmy Miller is pretty sure he's either losing his mind or achieving enlightenment. Then again, maybe he's just lonely and bored. For months he's been experiencing increasingly intense episodes of "fading" where he seems to forget not just who, but also what, he is. Doctors, religious advisors, and well-intentioned friends only make him feel worse about himself and his decisions. And sex, an activity at which he's never really excelled, inevitably leads to guilt and disappointment. With a vague sense that he's on the verge of something, Jimmy stumbles along, uncertain whether it's death, transcendence, or love that he's struggling toward.

I've been a creative professional and event planner in the Washington, DC metro area for the last thirty years. Fade Away is my first novel, but I've got a lot in the works, including a collection of poetry, a graphic novel, a book of photographs, and at least two more novels.I'm passionate about mountain biking (though I'm not particularly skilled), love to strum the guitar (but can't seem to learn the dreaded F chord), and still hold out hope of playing point guard for the Knicks. When I'm not participating in any of these activities (or working, writing or reading), I'm probably hanging out with my wonderful wife and three kids ... and our fantastically quirky dog, Misha.
