Disability Law and Practice

This work discusses all areas of the law relevant to approximately six million disabled people in the UK. It encompasses subjects as diverse as education, the financial aspects of disability, building access and transportation, housing, social security, community care and employment. The text covers recent legislation, such as the Disability Discrimination Act 1996 and accompanying Codes of Practice. The author, Helene Richman, is a member of the House of Commons Steering Committee on the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970.
