Film Editing Theory and Practice

After a boyhood spent enraptured of all things cinematic (his French mother inculcated him with the same passion of her youth), Chris Reed somehow managed to find himself studying Russian literature at Harvard, rather than film. Then, a few years later, at Yale, he finally started corrected course by applying his Russian studies to the works of a Russian film director, and earning his Master's in Russian and East European Studies with a thesis on the great Andrei Tarkovsky. After subsequently spending 4 years teaching high school French and Russian, he finally made his way to film school at NYU, where he earned his MFA in film production. Now living in Baltimore, Chris teaches film and video full time at Stevenson University, while actively practicing his craft as a cinematographer/videographer, editor, and director.
