The 14 chapters in this book, many of them illustrated, include very basic physics explaining what ultrasound is, possible hazzards, safety practice, training in techniques and preparing the client for ultrasound. The book also looks at estimating gestation age with diagrams of measurement and charts in common use, as well as plotting foetal growth, the significance of symmetric and asymmetric growth retardation. Counselling and ethical issues are also discussed.
