Fisheries of Australia

Published by an arrangement with the Fisheries Division, Canberra, this book traces the history of fishing in Australia from Captain Cook's time up to publication in 1979. It describes in a general way some of the major fisheries, vessels and gear methods used. It is not meant to be a detailed textbook but an appreciation of past developments and as such, gives an excellent overall view of Australian fisheries.
