Fluid dynamics is traditionally one of the most challenging areas of computational mechanics. The simulation of fluid motion is always a serious test for any numerical method, in particular non-linear problems. Recent developments in the Boundary Element Method have been very successful in dealing with complex fluid flow problems. Nevertheless, the BEM continues to be an area of very active research in computational fluid dynamics where the emphasis is on developing new algorithms and widening the field of applications. Recent advances in these areas, as presented at the Second International Workshop on Boundary Element Methods in Fluid Dynamics, are collected in this volume.
