Heroic Delusion

This comic sketch shows how people fail to see their own blind spots. A mugger holds up a woman. As she reluctantly complies, Superman appears. Not the young, virile hero from the comic books, but a middle-aged Superman. Once Superman is alone, he collapses wheezing. The mugger returns and we realize he is an actor hired by Superman to fake holdups! Superman's physique and lack of superpowers make it clear he is past his prime.
