A journal that condenses a number of study visits to the Bible Lands by Trevor Pitt, a theological educator and Christian Priest in the Anglican tradition. He is an exponent of "reading the Bible with our feet". Reading the biblical texts in the actual place of their production helps the interpretation come alive in fresh, and often unexpected ways. It also allows us to be more patient with its meanings. It helps us to see the land of the Bible as the kind of place it really is, a small territory of seething hatreds and bitter divisions, belonging to, and sacred to, the three major faiths of the Abrahamic tradition. It helps us all to understand more deeply the mutli-faith world in which our lives and ministries are set. The basic nature of Christian faith is discovered "on the way" in dialogue with God and Jesus in the biblical narrative. The book is beautifully illustrated throughout with full colour pictures drawn "in situ" by Linda Birch.
