"Journeys to the Underworld" is a personal record of the author's journey through Italy, from Turin via Rome and Naples to western Sicily, in search of the sites and temples of ancient prophetesses and oracles. Facts and legends are pieced together with living local traditions; priapic votive offerings are seen alongside saintly relics. Examining the nature of prophesy and inspiration, part of the territory Pitt-Kethley explores is the territory of the mind. The author has written two collections of poetry, "Sky Ray Lolly" and "Private Parts".
