This book aims to treat a number of currently important areas in gas-phase kinetics and reaction dynamics at a level appropriate for first year graduate students, and final year undergraduates taking specialized courses. It is divided into three parts, treating different but related themes in gas-phase kinetics and a major feature of the book is the number and range of problems (and their solutions) which accompany the text. The connections between theories of elementary reactions and the experimental investigation of their kinetics and dynamics, and the use of laboratory data obtained for elementary reactions in the analysis of complex reacting systems are both emphasized and the book is so designed that individual parts of it could accompany short courses in chemistry, while the complete book is able to provide the background for a course comprising up to 25 lectures.
