The Station Now Standing

Bill Pertwee travelled up and down Britain in search of station buildings with a colourful flavour, a general air of cleanliness and pleasing architectural design. He has talked to the station staff who have cared for their working environment and to the many groups of people within the community who have taken it upon themselves to enhance their station. This is an illustrated record of their work and of his discoveries and a celebration of the most colourful aspects of Britain's railway heritage.
