Hans Pecseli is professor emeritus at the plasma-space physics department at the University of Oslo, and also adjoined professor at the University of Tromso, Norway. He has contributed to the literature on plasma physics, meteorology, and lately also marine biology. He is member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences, the Norwegian Academy of Sciences and Letters, and also fellow of the American Physical Society. With a basic education in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Denmark and a PhD from the Riso National Laboratory in Denmark, Professor Pecseli has a background from laboratory experiments in plasma physics, working at the same time also with theoretical problems in this field.
