Marcy Pavord is an international endurance rider, and trainer of both horses and riders to international level. She has produced many horses for the sport, including home-breds from the small stud which she runs with her husband, Tony, in the Black Mountains of Wales. Among her major successes have been the achievement of a Tom Quilty Gold Cup 100-mile buckle in the famous Australian ride, producing the millennium year British National Champion, Tawmarsh Tara, and winning the Arab Horse Society endurance trophy. Several of her horses are competing successfully in Bahrain, where she has trained the successful Amiri Endurance Team. She is an FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale) International Judge of endurance riding and has served the sport at various times on the British Endurance and former Long Distance Riding Group committees, the BHS Training and Education Advisory Committee and the working party to develop the new society, Endurance GB. She is the author of Endurance Start to Finish also published by J. A. Allen.
