Australian Legendary Tales

Outside Australia, these are, perhaps, the best-known dreaming stories from the oral tradition of the Aboriginal People, whose rich spiritual life has fascinated anthropologists and collectors since the latter part of the 19th century. Andrew Lang, who wrote prefaces to the original editions, saw them as a unique collection of materials. Well over a century later, they continue to provide a moving glimpse into the Dreamtime world and its deep spirituality, for general readers and tellers of myth and story in many lands. This new English edition contains the original main text of two collections, "Australian Legendary Tales" (1986) and "More Australian Legendary Tales" (1989), transcribed and shaped by Mrs. Katherine Langloh Parker.
