Progress in Retinal Research

One of a series of volumes that highlight new and fast-moving areas in retinal research identified by involved investigators. Work on the retina is important in itself and also because it serves as a relatively simple model for the brain. Not only those interested in vision research will find this series useful, but also those interested in the broader aspects of CNS function. The contributors write from a relatively personal viewpoint and provide new, up-to-date material to keep the reader abreast of current developments, as well as background information of longer term archival interest. Each paper provides an overview of a research area along with theoretical and practical guidelines for future work.
