St.Petersburg

Known as the "Venice of the North", St Petersburg was a city rich with palaces, grand boulevards and wide squares. It was also a city of grim poverty. These contrasts are captured in this book of photographs which includes the soup kitchens of the poor and the drawings rooms of the Tsar.
