Integrating youth immigrants into European labour markets has been increasingly recognised as one of the main challenges faced by the EU. This is especially true for the current economic crisis that hit young people at the most across the member states. The majority of foreign-born population are facing long spells of joblessness, skill shortages and a high risk of exclusion as a result. Therefore, attempts to give youth immigrants a fair chance to participate in the labour markets are more than ever a key policy priority in all EU member states. It is important to increase the effectiveness of measures in terms of a number of good practices in policy design, as well as implementation in the member states that this book offers.
