The Lincoln County War

The legend of the Lincoln County War and its most romantic figure Billy the Kid, holds a special place in the history of the American West. In this documentary history, participants on both sides and eye-witnesses tell the story of the bloody struggle for economic domination of a region in which each faction saw enormous opportunity for acquiring wealth. Nolan weaves together the stories of such figures as John Tunstall, the McSweens, Jimmy Dolan, and Billy the Kid, and he adds his own insights and commentary to produce a readable account.
