Caroline Morton is a young widow; unemployed, depressed, and hoping to get her life back on track by writing a novel about her family history. But after a year, she hasn't written the first chapter. Her ancestors, sometimes mischievous and sometimes alarming, intervene, and bring Caroline on a series of adventures to experience their challenges of coming to Nova Scotia. She worked in the health information management field and taught in post-secondary education before becoming a minister in The United Church of Canada. She is now retired and follows in her mother's footsteps, researching her ancestors and writing novels.
