In its second year, this book offers a comprehensive source of information on international diplomatic relations for 1990-1991. Each yearbook features sections that include looking ahead to ongoing negotiations, a chronology of diplomatic events for the year and a bibliography of current diplomacy-related publications. Each edition also includes a sequence of original essays by noted scholars, journalists and participants in key areas. This book focuses on the crisis in the Gulf, with six pieces exploring diplomatic initiatives from various perspectives - the US, USSR, the UN and the Arab world in particular. Additional essays highlight German reunification, post-Cold War Europe, the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty and the Liberian Civil War.
