The focus of this text is on three language acts (conversation, narration and comprehension of text) which are extremely difficult for school aged language-impaired children and which are critical to the child's social and academic performance in school. Numerous case studies are presented in the text, serving as a basis for descriptions of assessment stategies and suggestions for intervention.
