This new work provides a detailed commentary on the Vienna Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) for UK practitioners. It is a subject of growing importance for UK companies, as more than 50 states have now ratified the CISG, including the US and all other EU members, meaning it is increasingly incorporated into contracts for the international sale of goods. Special emphasis is placed on comparing the CISG with existing English law on the subject, and identifying the potential pitfalls in the application of the CISG which may not exist under English law. Up to date analysis of the convention which is becoming the applicable law for international sales contracts. Focuses on the problems for the UK practitioner. Examines the appropriateness of the CISG for particular trades, businesses and types of contract
