Biological Applications of Photochemical Switches

Photochemical research at the interface of chemistry and biology has increasingly moved toward a merger of biochemical and organic chemical methodologies, resulting in exciting new developments. This series provides a current survey of the field of bioorganic photochemistry, and reviews the recent literature, research and developments in such areas as photosynthesis, vision, photoaffinity labelling, and the photochemistry of biologically important molecules such as proteins and the nucleic acid. The cases reviewed employ the latest in synthetic, mechanistic and spectroscopic techniques and are geared toward an understanding at the molecular level.
