Stalin's Famine and Roosevelt's Recognition of Russia

During the 1930s, a devastating famine struck the Soviet Union. This study analyses the knowledge about the famine that was available to the Roosevelt administration, and explains why the truth was never revealed in spite of many appeals from Americans who wanted to organise a relief effort.
