Foundations of Medical Law and Jurisprudence

Medical law is a rapidly growing subject of intellectual inquiry. Grounded in principles of civil law, criminal law and public administration, it is shot through with examples of moral complexity and controversy. The changing nature of health care delivery and the gathering pace of technological possibility pose new and recurrent challenges for English law and the ethical principles on which it rests. Medicine and health care, as much as law, raise fundamental issues of social justice. These are not always easy issues to understand and examine.
