In this work, the photographer attempts to transcend the familiar sight of the Nile. Following it onto its upper reaches, along its two great tributaries, the Blue Nile and the White Nile, into Sudan and to Ethiopia and beyond, to one of its sources in the Ruwenzori Mountains, he records his own personal vision of these places. He captures the changing worlds of the river and the distinct peoples who live beside and upon it. Moorhouse's accompanying commentary provides context for this portrait of one of the world's great rivers.
