Build Your Own Intelligent, Mobile, Space Robot

This text provides a guide to the process of designing and constructing a SPACE (self-programming, autonomous, computer-controlled, evolutionary/adaptive) mobile robot. It is accompanied by a disk containing self-reprogramming software, enabling a robot to "learn" from its successes and failures, and reprogram itself accordingly. The author explains in detail how to: construct, test and troubleshoot the circuits required for a mobile robot; build a functional robot body; build and test a robot control system circuit; generate and control motion to move a robot; construct collision-detection and obstacle-avoidance systems; and build alpha- and delta-level robots.
