Victorian and Edwardian Scotland

This is a photographic study of Scotland from Victorian and Edwardian photographs, bringing together items from a variety of collections. It includes Edinburgh and Glasgow, cities of particular architectural change and innovation as well as the contrasting outlying islands and other sites both famous and obscure. It includes work by the pioneers of early photography, showing the technical progress achieved by these photographers and in many cases the photographs are of places which have since been demolished or destroyed. The book should be of interest to local historians, photographers and tourists.
