Born and bred in Brisbane, the author was a Queensland Police Officer for 16 years, reaching the rank of Detective Sergeant. He worked in a variety of fields in both uniform and plain clothes; the majority of his service spent in the specialist squads - Break and Enter, Fraud, Major Crime, Drug, Homicide - including a stint with the Fitzgerald Inquiry. After leaving the police, the author worked in a range of positions in other government agencies before retiring. He now spends his time yelling at the TV, and generally annoying his adult kids. This is his first book.
