Safari is a Swahili word, derived from the Arabic safara, meaning journey. More than a mere holiday, the safari is a spiritual and physical journey, offering an opportunity to recharge and reconnect with the natural world. And today's safari lodges are havens in which to do this.
The safari lodge has become a destination in itself, rather than a camp along the way. Safari Style Africa explores the most spectacular of these lodges, across Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. The new safari aesthetic showcased in these lodges fuses high-end design with traditional African craft to create original, courageous and soulful architecture and interiors. This careful attention to detail also serves to highlight the special character of each environment - and the importance of preserving it.
Featuring stunning landscape and interiors photography, Safari Style Africa is your introduction to both the safari lodge design aesthetic and the wild beauty of the African landscapes.
