In Collusion Inside the Maze, the author blends historical fact with gripping fiction, weaving a compelling alternative narrative to the Government's official version of events. While his first book Governor Inside the Maze, presents the state's account of Wright's murder, this novel dares to explore the deeper, darker possibilities.
Was it an unavoidable prison killing - Or was it something more - a carefully orchestrated state-sanctioned execution.
With firsthand experience of the inner workings of the Maze, the author brings a unique perspective to one of the most controversial events of the Troubles. As the Governor in charge of the Maze on the day of the murder, he has his own beliefs about what truly happened - but now, he invites you the reader, to weigh both versions and decide for yourself.

William Mckee spent 27 years on the front lines of history as a Prison Governor in the Northern Ireland Prison Service, serving through some of the darkest days of the Troubles. He served four tours of duty in the notorious Maze Prison also known as Long Kesh.
In 2009, his autobiography, 'Governor Inside the Maze' offered a rare and candid look behind prison walls. This book also delivered the government's account of the 1997 murder of Billy Wright, the notorious Loyalist leader assassinated inside the Maze on a day when the author was the Governor in charge of the prison.
Now William turns to fiction to challenge the boundries of truth.
During the course of William's career he was forced to move home on three occasions to prevent murder attackes on his life. Despite this, he had to form working relationships with the paramilitary leaders inside the jail, in an effort to maintain order and discipline within the prison. His efforts were recognised when he received an award at Buckingham Palace from HRH Princess Anne.
The author now works as an Appropriate Adult supporting vulnerable children and adults through the Northern Ireland Justice System, and is vocal in his support for the continuation of the Peace Process that has brought calm to the once bloody streets of the cities of the province.
